Antigone
61
no pride on earth is free from a curse of heaven
ANTIGONE inspired by THE PLaY OF SOPHOCLES
so tell me again about the curses
of odipus king of thebes!
shall heaven cry.
for my eyes are dry.
Antigone a rising star
so angelic in her
love .lost in the underworld so far.
Driven by her love for her brother.
Broke the law even further.
so mighty creon,
who will lonely live on.
you once stand on the edge of fate
looking downward at hell's gate.
the furies will take away
everything you cherish with no dismay.
for her beauty locked
away where the sun could
not come. enclosed
like a grave.
mighty Antigone so brave!
Soon your house will be filled,
with weeping and guilt.
your blindness,
will bring you darkness.
fate has brought
all your pride to dust.
corpse to corpse flesh to flesh
big words are always
punished. proud me in old age learn to be wise
